The New Rare at Glue Book Fair 2026

ICA London, 12–13 September 2026.

This selection treats photography, fashion and queer culture not as three separate sections but as one continuous circuit — territories that have borrowed from, disguised themselves as, and quietly authorised each other since the 1970s. A press release becomes a fashion statement. A contact sheet becomes an act of self-fashioning. An exhibition catalogue becomes the only surviving evidence that a body of work, or a way of looking, existed at all. What holds this group together isn't rarity in the conventional sense — it's the argument that value accrues through context, authorship, design and the accident of what survives, not just through what's scarce.

ICA's annual book fair brings together over 90 publishers for a weekend celebrating independent and artist publishing, alongside talks, workshops, book launches and an exhibition spotlighting the artist-led networks that sustain creative publishing today.
