Collection: Genesis Breyer P-Orridge
Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (1950–2020) was a British artist, musician and writer whose practice encompassed performance, collage, photography, sculpture and experimental music, questioning the construction of identity and the boundaries of the body. A founder of COUM Transmissions, Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, P-Orridge later developed the collaborative Pandrogeny project with Lady Jaye Breyer P-Orridge, using cut-up methods and bodily modification to pursue a shared identity. Museum presentations included S/HE IS HER/E at the Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, in 2013 and Try to Altar Everything at the Rubin Museum, New York, in 2016.
