Original exhibition postcard from TRAUMA, a 2001 UK touring exhibition organised by the Hayward Gallery for the Arts Council of England and presented at Dundee Contemporary Arts. The exhibition included Christopher Wool, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Willie Doherty, Guillermo Kuitca, Tracey Moffatt, Johan Grimonprez, Anri Sala, Martin Boyce, and others.
The card reproduces Wool and Gonzalez-Torres’ collaborative stack work: Wool’s broken black text — THE SHOW IS OVER THE AUDIENCE GET UP TO LEAVE THEIR SEATS TIME TO COLLECT THEIR COATS AND GO HOME AND NO MORE — folded into Gonzalez-Torres’ endlessly replenishable paper format. The phrase becomes both image and system: a printed object about disappearance, repetition, public address, and withdrawal.
A small but strong document of a rare collaboration between two major post-conceptual artists, circulating here through UK exhibition infrastructure rather than the commercial print market.
Condition: Good vintage condition. Light handling marks, minor surface wear, faint age toning.
Shipping and handling included.
