Original 1962 offset lithograph produced in connection with a performance of La Monte Young’s Composition 1960 #13 with Marian Zazeela. The work combines a reduced typewritten announcement with a dense black abstract image field — later described by The Museum of Modern Art as Marian Zazeela’s graphic realization connected to Dennis Johnson’s indeterminate composition LISTEN.

Produced during the formative years of Young’s Composition 1960 series and the wider downtown New York experimental music milieu surrounding John Cage, Richard Maxfield, and Yoko Ono’s loft concerts, the print exists between score, performance document, conceptual instruction piece, and autonomous graphic work.

Unlike later reproductions or conventional exhibition ephemera, the piece retains the unstable character of early 1960s experimental print culture: temporary, informational, and highly formal at the same time. Very scarce.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Light age toning and minor handling wear consistent with period material.
