14.5 × 22 cm
Offset print on card, folded pamphlet format
24 October – 6 December 2014
Opening card issued for Adam McEwen’s third solo exhibition at Galerie Art : Concept, Paris, with vernissage on 23 October 2014. The exhibition included new works: Conduit, Equalizing Ramp, Instrument, and Hoof Bath. The recto carries a photograph of a horse with its legs placed in coloured plastic buckets; the verso carries exhibition details in clean black type on white ground.
McEwen’s practice reworks ordinary objects, materials, and cultural signs into deadpan sculptural propositions. By 2014, his work was already associated with graphite objects, obituaries, industrial forms, and a dry treatment of public language and use-value. This card sits close to that register: announcement, image, joke, object record.
The horse image — presumably connected to Hoof Bath — operates as both documentation and proposition: an animal in primary-coloured buckets, somewhere between veterinary procedure and colour-field painting.
Condition: Good. Light handling wear, minor surface marks, soft edge wear, and faint creasing consistent with printed exhibition ephemera.
Shipping and handling included.
