Invitation / artist postcard, Lawrence Weiner, (&) so weiter, 1991. Altonaer Museum in Hamburg / Norddeutsches Landesmuseum, with Gebr. König Postkartenverlage, Cologne. Die-cut, offset printed in black on cream/white stock, 10.5 × 14.8 cm. Clipped corners, three punched holes, minimal front text, publisher details to verso. Printed in Germany. Best.-Nr.: 193/08.

The card turns Weiner’s language work into a small handled object: text, absence, spacing, and institutional circulation all held on one surface. Original shaped design — the die-cut form and punched holes are part of the work’s proposition, not incidental to it.

Lawrence Weiner was one of the central figures of Conceptual Art, using language as his primary material from the late 1960s onward. His works often moved between wall, book, poster, postcard, and public site, allowing text to function as both proposition and object. This small Altonaer Museum card belongs to that wider field of circulation: not simply an invitation, but a portable Weiner work in printed form.

Condition: Very good vintage condition. Light age toning and minor handling wear consistent with a 1991 paper object. Ships flat and well protected; international shipping available.
