Original exhibition catalogue published for Dwyer’s concurrent exhibitions at Meyers/Bloom Gallery, Santa Monica, and Josh Baer Gallery, New York, 1988. A compact record of Dwyer’s late-1980s word sculptures, in which language becomes furniture, architecture and object. The continuous red cover enlarges and crops fragments of FRIENDS, ENEMIES and FUCKING, while the interior isolates individual works against white space.

By 1988, Dwyer had moved from appropriated media imagery towards materially constructed words, drawing upon commercial signage, advertising and product design. The catalogue followed her inclusion in the 1987 Whitney Biennial and captures this practice at an important early point.

20 × 20 cm. 14 pages. Offset-printed colour wrappers and plates; saddle-stapled. Condition: good. Extensive surface scratching, rubbing and handling creases to the wrappers; edge and corner wear with small abrasions. Interior pages remain clean and securely bound. The wear records the catalogue’s continued circulation.
