Produced for Maurizio Cattelan: All, presented at the Guggenheim from 4 November 2011 to 22 January 2012. The exhibition brought together virtually everything Cattelan had produced since 1989, suspending the works collectively from the museum’s rotunda and turning the retrospective into an excessive three-dimensional catalogue of his career.
The postcard reproduces La Rivoluzione siamo noi (We Are the Revolution), 2000, in which a diminished figure of Cattelan hangs by its collar from a metal rack while wearing a felt suit associated with Joseph Beuys. The artist appears simultaneously as author, object and quotation.
On the reverse, the museum converts that image into publicity: title, closing date, press endorsement, exhibition app, visitor information and an empty postal field. Issued through a GoCard advertising format rather than as a conventional museum invitation, the card was made to leave the institution and circulate elsewhere.
The exhibition promised All. The postcard released one image.
Offset-printed postcard, 10.5 × 15 cm. Condition: good. Light handling and surface wear, with minor edge and corner softening.
Securely packed; tracked UK and international shipping available.
