Issued for The Plastic Unit, Carol Bove's first solo exhibition at David Zwirner's London gallery, 24 Grafton Street, held from 14 April to 30 May 2015. The exhibition assembled large-scale works from stainless steel, concrete, I-beams, shells, feathers, petrified wood and other natural and industrial materials, arranged in deliberate relation to the gallery's architecture.

The invitation reproduces a detail of Circles (2015), identified on the reverse as a paper collage on a black-and-white photograph. Two circular forms occupy the image: one carrying a small landscape and setting sun, the other left blank against the photographed studio wall. The exhibition information is placed quietly on the reverse, leaving the reproduced work to operate almost independently of its administrative function.

By this point Bove had become known for bringing found and fabricated elements into carefully controlled arrangements, shifting between natural and industrial materials, sculpture and display. She joined David Zwirner in 2011; The Plastic Unit established her first solo presentation at the gallery's London space and preceded her first New York exhibition with the gallery the following year.

Offset-printed card, 20 × 20 cm. Condition: good. Light handling and surface wear, faint marking to the printed reverse, with minor edge and corner softening.
