Printed exhibition brochure for Alex Bag's ICA Miami presentation The Van (Redux)*. The project returned to Bag's 2001 video The Van, extending it through a new work, site-specific installation, and the fictional corporate structure of The Leroy LeLoup Corporation.
Bag's work remains sharply placed in the present: role-play, art-world speech, sales performance, media character, and institutional theatre collapse into one another. This brochure operates as more than documentation. It is a small printed support for a work already concerned with fiction, commerce, persona, and the performance of contemporary art itself.
For The New Rare, the object sits close to the shop/object register: museum handout, exhibition residue, corporate fiction, retained printed matter.
