Thom Browne (born 1965) is an American fashion designer and the founder of the New York label Thom Browne, established in 2001. Browne built his reputation on rigorous tailoring and a consistent formal vocabulary — compressed proportions, shrunken jackets, exposed ankles, grey flannel — that restated the grammar of American menswear through a lens at once classical and eccentric. His work appeared in publications including BUTT Magazine and helped define the aesthetic possibilities of high-concept American menswear in the mid-2000s. Browne has shown in New York and Paris and his work is held in institutional collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
