Collection: Neil Young

Neil Young (born 1945) is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician whose work spans folk, rock, country and experimental music, characterised by raw guitar textures, confessional lyrics and an uncompromising approach to both production and performance. Associated with the Laurel Canyon scene and at times grouped with the countercultural movements of the late 1960s and early 1970s, Young developed an independent trajectory that resisted easy categorisation, moving between acoustic intimacy and electric noise with equal authority. His influence on alternative and grunge rock became a defining critical reference point for musicians of the 1980s and 1990s.
