Mario Maffei

Mario Maffei is an Italian artist whose practice engages figurative drawing, painting, and printed matter, working in a deliberately naive and unstable visual language that draws on comic-strip imagery, social caricature, and the graphic traditions of outsider and underground art. His work circulated within the early-2000s Paris gallery scene, with exhibitions at Yvon Lambert Paris Project Room and other venues connected to younger figurative and neo-outsider practices of the period.
