Collection: Lorie Novak
Lorie Novak (born 1954) is an American artist and educator whose practice uses photography and projection to explore memory, family, history and the politics of representation. Working from the late 1970s, she developed large-scale projected installations that layer personal and public imagery, situating her within expanded photography and media art. Her work was included in Sequence (con)Sequence at Bard College in 1989 and in numerous group exhibitions addressing photography and memory in the United States and internationally. She is Professor Emerita at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.
