Collection: Kele Okereke

Kele Okereke (born 1981) is a British musician, lead vocalist and guitarist of the London post-punk and indie rock group Bloc Party, formed in 2002. The group's debut album Silent Alarm (2005) was widely acclaimed and Bloc Party became one of the prominent British guitar bands of the mid-2000s. Okereke was among the first prominent British rock musicians to speak publicly about gay identity within that context, and his appearances in publications including BUTT Magazine formed part of a broader cultural conversation about visibility and representation in independent music. He has subsequently released solo recordings and continued to perform with Bloc Party.
