A compact exhibition booklet on Duchamp’s Boîte-en-valise / Box in a Suitcase — the portable museum Duchamp assembled from miniature replicas and reproductions of his own works between the 1930s and 1940s. The National Galleries of Scotland describes the original box as collapsing the distinction between original and reproduction, functioning almost like a travelling salesman’s case or portable museum.

For The New Rare, this is especially exact: a catalogue for a box that is itself already a catalogue, archive, exhibition, and reproduction system. The booklet repeats the logic of the work in paper form — diagram, checklist, image, caption, sequence. It does not simply document Duchamp’s travelling box; it becomes another portable support for it.

Design features include black square wrappers, grey/white cover typography, a silhouetted Duchamp profile image, internal diagrams of the open box, numbered checklists, bilingual work titles, and black-and-white reproductions throughout.
