Self-published exhibition announcement card issued in conjunction with Giorgio Sadotti, 100 Balls (For Sale), 1992/2025.

The reverse outlines the original proposition in full: the sculpture was first made for the exhibition Il Mistero Dei 100 Dollari Scomparsi at Gió Marconi Gallery in 1992. Ten people are invited to buy ten different balls of their choice, looking for as large a variety of colour, size, and material as possible. Each of the one hundred balls is priced separately for sale. The asking price is a figure calculated to be exactly ten times the original cost of each ball, marked boldly and directly onto the surface of the corresponding ball using a felt-tip permanent marker pen. Any existing price marking on a ball is left whenever possible.

Rather than reproducing the sculpture, the card circulates its instructions, allowing the work to persist as language, transaction, and invitation. Printed more than three decades after the original installation, it reflects Sadotti’s longstanding interest in modest gestures, value systems, and the movement between artwork and everyday object. Like much of his practice, it quietly questions where a work resides — in the object itself, in its exchange, or in the act of describing it.

A concise printed support that functions simultaneously as exhibition ephemera, artist statement, and conceptual proposition. Its economy of means mirrors the work it announces.

Shipping and handling included in the listed price.
