Galerie Zabriskie, 37 rue Quincampoix, Paris
22 March – 3 May 1990
Offset print on cream textured stock
Approx. 21 × 10 cm folded
Issued for Collages Surréalistes, Galerie Zabriskie, Paris. Artists listed: Eileen Agar, Max Bucaille, Joseph Cornell, Max Ernst, Georges Hugnet, Nicolás de Lecuona, Roland Penrose, and Max Servais. Loose insert announcing the cocktail reception of 27 March 1990, with entry code and floor designation intact.
Cover image reproduced from Georges Hugnet's Le Sphinx du Moulin Vert, 1934: aerial Paris interrupted by a single inserted eye. A Surrealist image already functioning through montage, displacement, and re-entry.
The invitation reduces the exhibition into a portable administrative unit. Names, dates, address, access instructions, reception time. Surrealism translated into circulation form.
Not a reproduction. Not a later document. A surviving exhibition support, complete with insert, held outside the institutional archive. As far as currently known, no other example has been traced in public circulation.
Condition: very good; light toning, minor handling wear, faint surface marks consistent with age.
Original period item. Shipping included.
