Structured like a product brochure, service manual, and exhibition document simultaneously, The A-Z Bed Book presents sleeping units — The Small Bed, The Carpet Bed, The Fled, The Ottoman — as both functional furniture and conceptual propositions. Each unit is described through staged photographs, product-description language, and testimonial letters from users. The A-Z stamp logo, sparse typographic layout, and booklet format mimic commercial catalogue material while remaining entirely inside an art context.

Zittel’s practice in the early 1990s collapsed art, design, shelter, clothing, and daily routine into a single operating system. Rather than treating domestic life as background, she made it the site of experiment. Beds, trailers, uniforms, and storage units became tools for testing freedom, limitation, comfort, and control.

This booklet is not only documentation of an exhibition. It is a printed extension of A-Z Administrative Services: a paper showroom, a sales device, a user guide, and an artwork’s portable administrative surface. Authorship is distributed through artist, company name, testimonial, gallery, biennial, publisher, and object. The bed moves from furniture to artwork to printed matter, becoming legible through circulation.

Condition: Good vintage condition. Light surface soiling and age toning to covers, minor edge wear, soft creasing, and small handling marks throughout. Internally complete and clean.
