Andrea Zittel

Andrea Zittel (b. 1965, USA) developed her A-Z Administrative Services project from the early 1990s as a systematic investigation into the structures of daily life. Working across beds, trailers, uniforms, storage units, and living modules, Zittel collapsed art, design, shelter, clothing, and routine into a single operating system. Rather than treating domestic life as background, she made it the site of experiment — testing freedom, limitation, comfort, and control through objects that function simultaneously as furniture, artwork, and proposition.

Her work was shown at Andrea Rosen Gallery, New York, and included in the Whitney Biennial and exhibitions at the Rooseum, Malmö. It is held in major public collections including MoMA and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
