Collection: William Tucker

William Tucker (born 1935) is a British-American sculptor whose work moved from the geometric abstractions of the St Martin's generation in the 1960s toward a figurative, massively corporeal bronze practice developed after his move to the United States in the 1970s. A significant theorist as well as practitioner, his book The Language of Sculpture (1974) remains an important critical text. He has exhibited widely in Europe and North America, and his large-scale bronzes are held in major public collections.
