Collection: The Academy of Realness

The Academy of Realness is a pseudonymous imprint operated by Rafael Melendez. It produces pamphlets, folded publications, and printed documents released in conjunction with art fairs, exhibitions, and institutional contexts.

Its publications function as theory-objects, exhibition ephemera, and autonomous works — engaging with postmodern appropriation, authorship, repetition, and the conditions under which printed matter becomes art. Each item is designed to be handled and read, but also to survive as an artifact: a portable record of a position.
