Collection: Sue Arrowsmith
Sue Arrowsmith was among the small group of British artists working at the intersection of conceptual practice and institutional critique in the late 1960s and early 1970s. She was the only woman included in the landmark 1971 exhibition The British Avant Garde at the New York Cultural Center, and one of very few women represented in the major British conceptual surveys of that period. Her work engaged with systems of display, participation and the conditions under which art is encountered and evaluated.
