Collection: Lady Pink
Lady Pink (born Sandra Fabara, 1964) is an Ecuadorian-American graffiti artist and painter who began writing on New York subway trains in 1979 and became one of the most significant female figures in the first generation of New York graffiti. Working under the name Lady Pink from her early teens, she gained recognition in the graffiti world and subsequently in the gallery context, exhibiting with the Fun Gallery, New York, in the early 1980s alongside artists including Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. She appeared in the documentary film Style Wars (1983) and was featured in Henry Chalfant and Martha Cooper’s Subway Art (1984). Her work has been exhibited internationally and is held in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Brooklyn Museum.
