Collection: Jimmie Durham

Jimmie Durham (1940–2021) — American artist, poet, and essayist of Cherokee descent. Working across sculpture, installation, performance, and text, Durham produced an art of material irony and political displacement: found objects, stones, animal parts, and industrial debris assembled into works that questioned ownership, identity, and the violence of Western cultural categories. A long-term resident of Europe, he was based in Rome from the 1990s until his death.

Exhibition ephemera, printed matter, and related documents from The New Rare.
