ZG was one of the sharp independent art and culture magazines of the 1980s, moving between contemporary art, fashion, theory, music, media, and politics. Edited by Rosetta Brooks, it helped frame the period’s image culture as something unstable, political, and highly constructed. This issue is especially strong for its mix of Ballard, Richard Prince, Gary Indiana, Krystina Kitsis, and Nancy Dwyer, placing fiction, appropriation, fashion, and criticism into the same printed field.

Within The New Rare register, this is a strong period object: a large printed support for the circulation of 1980s art and theory. Not a catalogue and not simply a magazine, but a temporary exhibition space in paper form.

Condition: Good vintage condition. Visible handling wear, rubbing, creasing, edge and corner wear to wrappers, and age-related surface marks. Interior pages present well, with general signs of use and storage. Ships flat with protective packaging; international shipping available.
