Folded poster reproducing one of Prince's Family Tweets, 2017. Produced in connection with Third Place, Prince's contribution to Desert X, Desert Hot Springs, California. Approx. 41 × 57 cm / 16.5 × 23.75 in. Offset print on paper.
Condition: good used condition; original folds, light creasing, minor handling marks and surface wear. Presents well.
The poster enlarges the format of a social media post into a physical printed object. Third Place was a desert house covered with texts, images, and family-related fragments — a psychological portrait of place, memory, humour, and dysfunction rendered at architectural scale.
Prince's practice has long moved through found images, jokes, pulp fiction, celebrity, and advertising. By the 2010s, his use of Instagram and Twitter extended that logic into the language of social media: screenshots and casual posts turned into printed and exhibited material. The tweet becomes the work; the poster becomes its distribution.
Design features: enlarged Twitter interface, embedded image, pale printed ground, visible fold structure, strong poster scale.
