Published by Anabas Products, England, in 1986, following the international success of Hounds of Love and during the release of The Whole Story. By this point, KATE BUSH had established a form of pop authorship extending across composition, production, choreography, costume and film, constructing visual worlds inseparable from the music itself.

The postcard performs a simpler operation. Narrative, movement and theatrical context are removed, leaving the familiar language of mid-1980s celebrity photography: white shirt, glossy makeup, studio lighting and an approachable gaze. One of British pop’s most self-directed image-makers is reformatted as a commercially distributable portrait.

KATE BUSH appears without album, performance or fictional character. Portrait to one side; catalogue number and postal apparatus to the other. A complex artistic identity prepared for uncomplicated circulation.

Colour offset-printed postcard on semi-gloss card, 12 × 17 cm. Studio portrait to recto; divided postal back with Anabas logo, catalogue number AP156, copyright and printing details to verso. Condition: very good; unused, with light edge and corner wear, minor surface marking and a faint mark to the reverse consistent with age.

Securely packed; tracked UK and international shipping available.
