The cover reproduces one of Richter’s angular figurative compositions in black ink — a Cubist-inflected drawing of interlocking geometric figures — with the artist’s name in red and exhibition dates in italic type at the foot. The interior unfolds to present a concise multilingual biography and Richter’s own account of his artistic development, tracing his path from early Dada activity in Zurich (1916–1918) through his pioneering work in abstract cinema and his later painting.

By 1963 Richter was regarded not only as a painter but as one of the pioneers of abstract cinema and a key participant in Zurich Dada alongside Hans Arp, Tristan Tzara, and Viking Eggeling. Arturo Schwarz’s gallery played a decisive role in preserving and reactivating this history through exhibitions devoted to Dada, Surrealism, and Constructivism, making this brochure a surviving document from an influential moment in the reassessment of the twentieth-century avant-garde.
