Issued to promote one of the most significant Richter exhibitions ever mounted in the UK, Panorama surveyed nearly five decades of the artist’s practice to coincide with his 80th birthday. The exhibition brought together iconic photo-paintings including the famous Betty, 1988, abstract works, colour charts, subtle landscapes, works on paper, mirrors, and three important glass constructions.

Rather than functioning solely as advertising, cards like this formed part of the museum’s public distribution network — taken from display racks, carried away by visitors, and retained as modest records of major exhibitions. They remain concise documents of institutional history, preserving a specific moment in the circulation of contemporary art.
