The first book devoted solely to Nauman’s corridors and architectural installations. The study considers works beginning in 1969 and moving through the 1970s and beyond, focusing on the physical, perceptual, and psychological pressure they place on the participant. Published alongside the major retrospective Bruce Nauman: Disappearing Acts, shown at Schaulager, Basel, and then at MoMA / MoMA PS1, New York — described by MoMA as the most comprehensive presentation of Nauman’s work assembled to that point.

Nauman’s corridor works turn architecture into a behavioural instrument. Walls, mirrors, light, and constrained movement become forms of sculpture, producing not only visual experience but hesitation, unease, and self-conscious bodily awareness. This book fixes that unstable encounter into a handled format: installation translated into image, diagram, essay, bibliography, and index.

The distinction of this copy is its retained distributor state.
