Published in connection with the exhibition L’âme du voyageur endormi at Centre d’Art Passerelle, Brest, 26 June–9 October 2004. Co-published by Centre d’Art Passerelle, Éditions Incertain Sens and FRAC Bretagne; conception and production of the booklet and DVD by Nicolas Chevalier. Four stiff card pages with integral DVD, rounded corners and full-bleed colour printing; 14 × 20 cm.

Anne and Patrick Poirier have worked collaboratively since the late 1960s around archaeology, ruins, memory and imagined civilisations. Their installations often resemble fragments excavated from cultures that may never have existed. Dangerzone marks a significant inversion of that model: rather than reconstructing a lost past, it considers our own civilisation as a potential archaeological site, with technological imagery, violence and the human body presented as evidence of a culture already producing its future ruins.

The publication is particularly strong as an object. The DVD is physically embedded into the book, making Dangerzone neither straightforward exhibition catalogue nor conventional video edition. Image, printed matter and moving image occupy the same small carrier — a distinctly early-2000s form of analogue/digital publishing that now reads as a document of its moment.

Its interest lies precisely in this uncertain status: catalogue, artist publication, exhibition document and digital carrier at once.

Condition: Good. Light handling, rubbing and minor edge wear consistent with age. Original DVD present; playback untested.

Securely packed; tracked UK and international shipping available.
