Tom Bianchi (b. 1945) is an American photographer, painter, and sculptor whose work spans five decades of image-making at the intersection of queer life, intimacy, and the body. Trained as a lawyer before turning to art, Bianchi developed a photographic practice during the AIDS crisis that brought private experience into public form — documenting friendship, desire, and community at a moment of acute historical pressure.
His publications include Fire Island Pines: Polaroids 1975–1983, Out of the Studio, and Living with Dickens, each extending his practice into the format of the artist book: square-format, restrained in design, attentive to the domestic and the intimate.
