Collection: Robert Schad
Robert Schad (born 1953) is a German sculptor based in France whose practice centres on steel sculpture, engaging with questions of line, space, movement and the relationship between drawn mark and three-dimensional form. Working with heated and bent steel rods, he produces works that translate the gesture of drawing into sculptural space, creating open, linear structures that occupy and activate their surroundings. Schad has exhibited widely across Europe and his work is held in significant public collections and public spaces in France and Germany. He was included in Surprise, Surprise at Galerie Jean Greset, Besançon, in 2013.
