Collection: Richard Hell

Richard Hell (b. 1949, Lexington, Kentucky) is a poet, novelist, musician and visual artist whose work across punk, literature and film made him a central figure in the downtown New York scene of the 1970s and 80s. Co-founder of Television and the Heartbreakers, and frontman of Richard Hell and the Voidoids, he is credited as an originator of punk's visual and literary language. His writing — poetry, fiction, memoir, criticism — has appeared through major publishers and artist-run presses alike. This collection gathers publications, artist books and printed ephemera by or featuring Hell, including titles issued by 38th Street Publishers, the press run by Josh Smith and Todd Amicon.
