Collection: Rancillac

Rancillac (1931–2021) was a French painter and key figure in the Figuration Narrative movement, which emerged in Paris in the mid-1960s as a critical response to American Pop Art. Working with mass-media imagery, advertising, and popular culture, Rancillac developed a politically engaged figurative practice that placed him at the centre of the French avant-garde through the late 1960s and beyond.
