Mark Borthwick

Mark Borthwick (b. 1966) is a British photographer, filmmaker and artist whose work operates at the intersection of fashion image, documentary, and artist publication. Known for his intimate, often grainy and deliberately provisional visual language, he has collaborated closely with Maison Martin Margiela, Comme des Garçons and other fashion houses, producing images that resist the conventions of commercial photography. His self-published books and Xerox editions have become significant objects in the overlap between fashion ephemera and artist book culture.
