Collection: Lloyd Gibson

Lloyd Gibson is a British sculptor whose work was included in The Condition of Sculpture: A Selection of Recent Sculpture by Younger British and Foreign Artists, held at the Hayward Gallery, London, in 1975 — a landmark exhibition organised by William Tucker that positioned a younger generation of British and international artists within the expanded field of Post-Minimalist sculpture. Gibson was among forty-one artists whose practice was brought together at a moment when the language of sculpture was being reconsidered across structure, process, material and installation. His inclusion places him within the British sculptural milieu of the mid-1970s, working in dialogue with contemporaries including Garth Evans, Michael Bolus and Phillip King.
