Collection: Jane Dickson

Jane Dickson (born 1952) is an American painter and printmaker whose work documents the urban landscape of Times Square and New York City street life from the late 1970s through the 1980s, a period of significant social and economic transition in the city. Associated with the Times Square Show (1980) and the collaborative group Colab (Collaborative Projects), her paintings and prints use aerial perspectives, artificial light and the graphic language of advertising to address questions of visibility, surveillance and public space. Dickson’s work has been exhibited at the New Museum, New York, and is held in major public collections.
