Collection: Heide Hildebrand

Heide Hildebrand ran her gallery in Klagenfurt, Austria, from the 1960s onward — one of the few spaces in the German-speaking world to consistently programme artists working at the intersection of material reduction, optical research, and the broader ZERO / Nul field. Her programme brought together figures such as Bernard Aubertin, Hans Bischoffshausen, Karl Prantl, and J. J. Schoonhoven at a moment when the network connecting these practices across Europe was still being formed.

The documents gathered here — invitations, announcements, folded sheets — are the residue of that activity. Small in scale, precise in production, they record the alignment of artists and ideas that Hildebrand's gallery made possible. Each piece functions simultaneously as an administrative object and as a minor artefact of a specific moment in postwar European art.
