Collection: Enki Bilal
Enki Bilal (b. 1951, Belgrade) — Franco-Serbian artist, comics author, painter, and filmmaker. Emerging from the Franco-Belgian bande dessinée tradition in the 1970s, Bilal developed a visual language of post-industrial bodies, political dystopias, synthetic skin, and damaged memory that moved progressively from the page into painting, cinema, and large-scale installation. His figures inhabit worlds of atmospheric decay and technological unease, appearing as if passing between analogue and digital states. Major works include the Nikopol Trilogy and the film Immortal (2004). His first major exhibition within the Venice Biennale context, Inbox, was presented at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in 2015.
