Collection: Dike Blair

Dike Blair (born 1952) is an American artist and critic whose paintings depict mundane interior scenes — hotel rooms, bars, airports and domestic spaces — rendered in gouache and watercolour with a flat, photographic precision that transforms the ordinary into something quietly disquieting. Blair has also written art criticism extensively for publications including Purple and contributed to the critical discourse around painting, photography and everyday life in contemporary art. His work has been exhibited at galleries including White Columns, New York, and he contributed to Bald Ego no. 3 (c. 2004).
