Collection: Burk Uzzle

Burk Uzzle (born 1938) is an American photographer who became the youngest photographer ever hired by Magnum Photos, joining the agency in 1967. His documentary work spans civil rights, American social history and landscape, and his photographs of Woodstock (1969) are among the most widely reproduced images of the event. Uzzle’s practice moves between street photography, portraiture and landscape, and his work has been exhibited internationally and collected by major institutions including the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
