Collection: Alan Uglow

Alan Uglow (1941–2011) was a British-born painter based in New York whose reductive canvases engaged with the legacy of minimalism through precisely measured fields of colour and simple geometric formats, often incorporating the visual language of sports markings — penalty spots, lane lines, athletic field divisions — as a starting point for formal investigation. His work was exhibited at the Galerie Nordenhake, Stockholm, and the Peter Blum Gallery, New York, and is held in international public and private collections. Uglow contributed to Bald Ego no. 2 (2002), edited by Glenn O’Brien and Max Blagg.
