Collection: Stephen Cox
Stephen Cox (born 1946) is a British sculptor whose practice engages with traditional stone-carving, sacred and architectural contexts, and cross-cultural exchange between Western and non-Western artistic traditions. Working extensively in India, Egypt, and Sri Lanka as well as Britain, he has produced large-scale carved works in granite, basalt, and polished stone that situate themselves in relation to ancient craft practices and spiritual sites. He has exhibited at major institutions internationally and received the Premio Internazionale della Scultura at the Venice Biennale in 1984.
