Shirazeh Houshiary (born 1955) is an Iranian-born British artist whose paintings and sculptures move between geometric abstraction and spiritual resonance, drawing on Sufi philosophy and the tradition of Islamic geometric patterning while remaining firmly within the language of Western modernism. Her work was shortlisted for the Turner Prize in 1994, and she has exhibited at major institutions internationally, including the Tate, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and Documenta 8 in 1987.
