Collection: Sadie Benning
Sadie Benning (born 1973) is an American artist and filmmaker whose early pixelvision videos, made as a teenager in the early 1990s, became touchstones of queer youth culture and DIY media practice. Working across video, painting, and installation, Benning explores identity, desire, and the politics of representation with a raw, confessional directness that has influenced subsequent generations of queer artists. Their work has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, and they were included in the 1993 Whitney Biennial.
