Collection: Mitra Tabrizian

Mitra Tabrizian (born 1954) is an Iranian-born, London-based artist and filmmaker whose work addresses identity, diaspora, gender and the politics of representation through photography, film and video. Her practice emerged from British cultural theory of the 1980s, engaging critically with Thatcherism, post-colonial identity and the image of the Other. Her films were distributed through the British Film Institute; her photographic work has been exhibited internationally and is held in major public collections including Tate.
