Keith Haring

Exhibition ephemera, announcements, posters and printed matter by or relating to Keith Haring (1958–1990), the American artist whose visual language — radiant babies, barking dogs, crawling figures and interlocked bodies — emerged through the New York subway drawings of the early 1980s before moving into gallery exhibitions, public murals, commercial multiples and the Pop Shop. Haring’s practice was grounded in speed, scale and the direct circulation of images between artist and audience. Posthumous exhibitions and publications have continued to present his work through the institutions and galleries that shaped downtown New York culture.
