Collection: John Miller

John Miller (born 1954) is an American artist, writer, and critic whose paintings, sculptures, and installations engage consumer culture, abjection, and the ideological underpinnings of everyday life with a consistently analytical and often darkly comic sensibility. Working from the early 1980s, he is known for his brown monochrome paintings and his use of mass-produced objects and imagery to examine the relationship between value, waste, and representation. He has exhibited widely in the United States and Europe and contributed criticism to Artforum and other publications over several decades.
